Sometimes Forum Omissions Are Inexplicable.

@CSKA_Moscou you sound like one of the genuine basketball faithful, so your wise counsel was quite welcome.

Nevertheless, anyone who doesn't sense great danger in the Wolves this year will find regret. The Nuggets had better not look past them for even a moment.

a friend introduced me to American basketball 8 or 9 years ago, and given my age, I've been watching the NBA for almost half my life. moreover I played at an amateur level (shooting guard) and I would not be against playing in my university team if I was not myopic and if I did not have to fear hand injuries (with a hand injurie, my musician career will be very hard ). So affirmative answer.

Exactly, it will be an interesting offensive match
I'd never say "I told you so." But .....

Noflaps for the win! Woot! Woot!

I love the Nuggets. But truly, the Timberwolves are terrifying.
And they just won game one, at altitude, against the world-champion Denver Nuggets on Denver's home court.

Let's face it, this is better than curling and better than cricket and better than football, unless Liverpool is playing.

Well, but if you played football on ice with brooms and those sticky little wickets....
Okay. I'm starting to feel like a fortune teller.

A few minutes ago, the Timberwolves suh-MASHED the Nuggets. For the second time in a row, the Timberwolves have beaten the world champion Nuggets on the Nugget's home court in this playoff series. And it wasn't just by a little.

I expect that by tomorrow morning there will finally be a big Timberwolves band wagon and lots of people will be jumping on it. But let's face it: real sports fans know where they could have found the truth earlier: in the lovely Lichess off-topics forum.

I'll say it again: I've got a lot of respect for Denver, but the Timberwolves are the team to beat these playoffs. They even played tonight minus a stellar defensive player. And, weirdly, they stayed just as scary.

Want to see real basketball defense? Watch those Wolves.

2-2 Denvers woke up and got the job done. I feel like the Timberwolves are going to be eliminated, even if it will be with honors.

big job from Gordon and Jokic.
As you probably know, @CSKA_Moscou , we are perhaps witnessing something that is almost unprecedented -- but not quite.

I believe that in 1994 (the first round) Denver came back to win the series from being down 0-2 against the Sonics. But that was merely a five-game series, so Denver was able to do that by winning the next three games straight. The last of those games was a nail-biter.

However, even if Denver wins the next game at home (something -- a home win -- neither team has yet managed in this series), there will still be more to come this time, since it's a seven-game series. And if the teams continue to follow the pattern of "home team loses," the Nuggets are in trouble! lol.

I still think the Wolves are something special (and I'm not from Minnesota) but that doesn't suggest that the Nuggets are just chopped liver. There's a lot about Denver to love.

Aside from the two obvious supermen, the other Nuggets (certainly Gordon and still more) are stepping up, too, and showing lots of class. So, this series is turning out to be a really good one, thankfully.

And how about that Murray 3-pointer from miles away just before the first half ended? That was ... yeah, maybe unprecedented.
HUGE congratulations to Никола Јокић. They make some amazing human beings in Serbia, apparently.

The Denver Nuggets played a gifted team tonight and made the win look inevitable, nevertheless.

Every single Nuggets player looked like a champion this evening.

Of course, it's still not over. And I'm the first to admit: those Wolves are damned scary.
Days have passed. As we saw tonight, yes, those Wolves are damned scary. 115 to 70 scary. That's 45 points. In an NBA game. Against the world champions.

We're about to see, this weekend, one of the most interesting 7th games in a long time.

The Timberwolves and the Nuggets are taking turns blowing each other out.

Brilliant coaching coupled with talent and determination keep flipping the result, back and forth.

But there's only one last chance for one of those two teams.

Can Malone bring the Nuggets back yet again? Tonight, no matter how much analysis is offered, what I saw is this: the Nuggets were just shooting cold. It's almost that simple. And that ... happens ... from time to time.

So the next game -- game 7 -- might be utterly different for them. And they'll be at home in a VERY noisy Denver arena.

Either the Champions will be continuing on to try to repeat. Or the Wolves will, as I originally thought, show themselves to be already a team of destiny.

As noted, this will be one of the most interesting game 7s in a long time.
