I was banned for 10 minutes for aborting 1 game

REALLY? Some of the assumptions embedded in the AI police need to be reexamined.... I started a blitz game and in the middle of this game had a connection problem. (Ancient PC & router in need of replacement.) Your system assumes that "black left the game".
Solution 1: Please put me in contact with a moderator -- this is just one facet of the problem.
Solution 2: Make sure you have a repeated, recent pattern of 'abort' actions before unilaterally condemning your users
I mean, you did in fact leave that game, regardless of whether it was your intention to do so or not. A system cannot detect your intentions beyond the feedback that it receives, which, in this case is you leaving the game.

Thats the ideal range to learn from
A simple topic has turned into a full-fledged debate of random things
You missed the point entirely Baron! I freely admitted problems on my end not as a whining excuse but as a means to highlight the fact that the autocratic, automatic, and ARTIFICIALLY intelligent response that is in place has nestled within it assumptions as arrogant and assumptive as your cheap shot, ad hominem and gratuitous comment. Different people have different values and divert their resources according to those values. I was working in the computer industry most likely before you were born. Perhaps you should acquaint yourself with the philosophy of Neo-Luddites and not treat constructive input as though it was a social media forum.....
I like how people hijack other people's forum topics to engage in trauma dumping competitions which everyone gets pinged about on the home page. Really makes me question why the feedback forum exists.

Has this topic been hijacked? It's about whether and in what circumstances there are reasonable grounds for aborting games and about the site's treatment of players who abort. I don't think anyone has strayed very far from that subject.

Is it a problem for the developers when too much is posted about it in the feedback forum? Should only developers be responding to the issues raised? In that case, perhaps the feedback forum should be removed from the other general discussion forums, given a different "look"/"flavour" to discourage general discussion, and operate under different etiquette rules.
