FIDE Picks Breast Implants as a Sponsor for Women's Chess

Fide is failing to understand that when something is marketed towards women it doesn't always mean that those companies "support women". Many of them are predatory and take advantage of the women they're "helping".
i really dont know what was fide thinking hopefully better spnoser next year
Lichess is the best, beyond chess! It's so cool this discussion was brought here.
When women have the opportunity to take a greater (and deserved) part in an intelectual activity like chess, FIDE reminds them "but don't forget you are expected to have big breast!". That was not thoughtful at all, and instead of encouraging women to be part of chess it sends the opposite message.
And this kind of subject is of great importance, regarding people's self-esteem, as Lichess reminded.
So - I don't follow chess at that level really and play casually (as my rating belies).

That is utterly and completely tone-deaf especially contrasted with 2022 being declared Year of the Woman in chess.

Like...did Saturday Night Live and Onion simultaneously gain access to FIDE and Lichess and come up with this as some prank? Because this feels like what would happen if SNL ran out of material and resorted to chess jokes.
"Anonymous female player"'s opinions are kind of an odd choice for an article. Either source them or leave them out; unsourced quotes have no place in serious articles in a situation where there are zero repercussions.
Having that said, they absolutely have a point.
Looks like they'll need more SUPPORT after this sponsor. *Badum tsss*

FIDE management is in touch... -- in touch with themselves and a 13 year old image of
women. Breast implants are a perfect compliment to inflated egos.
Why is there no mixed championship in chess ?

I can't find any reason for this.
Thanks for the post Lichess. Thanks also for sharing women's experiences and thoughts on the topic.
