About me

A simple guy! I am 36 and I live in Durham, NC. Giving lessons in person and online. Chess has become my passion again: teaching, playing, writing! I was a PhD student and I love statistics, and science in general. I love to talk and discuss cognitive science as well.

Playing experience

30 years of playing. 10 years playing in world youth and junior. Won Washington International 2016, Washington congress 2017, Charlotte open 2018, US open qualifier2019, tied for first at the US Masters 2019, won Rilton cup 2019/2020 . Participated in two world Cups (2011, 2021), Tied for the first at the 2022 US open and qualified for the 2022 US championship.

Teaching experience

I have been teaching chess since 2003. FIDE Trainer since 2011. I have trained players who achieved titles (4 IMs, 2 WGMs ).I also have trained over 350 players ranged from 1200-2650. FST level courses. Group and individual classes

Teaching methodology

I am a fan of Jacob Aagaard's method. Endgame is always a must in my classes ( I generate my own positions). I have a huge emphasize on Smyslov, Dvortsky , and Carsten Muller's endgame books.
