Longer games

I can't find any decent timed games on this site, and it's very frustrating. I don't feel like I have time to learn or think, and every game is 5-10 minutes, and it's full of people trying to use trick openings or who play way more than I do.

I have 0 interest in playing quick, blunder-filled chess vs. people who are way more comfortable playing blitz and have played 100x more than me.

I really like this site and the quality features, but I don't know how to go about finding longer games where I can actually analyze the position.

You should create your own game of longer length, using the "create a game" button, rather than joining games that others have created. I understand how you feel. When I joined, I played very badly because I was not used to games with such short timing.
